"The pervasiveness of parasites was revealed recently when scientists estimated that 85% of the North American adult population has at least one form of parasite living in their bodies. The most common is the beef tapeworm (Taenia saginata) which sticks to the intestines. it can grow to a scary six meters long and is contracted by eating undercooked meat and fish. Once infected you may suffer stomach cramps. Otherwise the first you'll know of the worms is spotted them in your faeces."
